Huck and Jim find a better place to live just in case of visitors. The place is a nice cave and when they get in Jim says he thinks there will be a storm blowing in and he was right. It rain for 5 days stright and flooded out the river. On day they saw a house floating down the river that had been washed out. They go aboard and find a man dead he had been shot in the head. The two then take some supplies and go back to their cave.
Huck is worrying about the man they found in the house and Jim tells him not because it is bad luck. Bad luck does come, Huck puts a dead rattlesnake in Jims bed and when he leaves the rattles mate comes and curls right next to it. So when Jim comes to bed he is bit by the mate. Jims legs swells for several days. After Jim gets better Huck wants to go to town to get info. the both agree Huck should disguise as a girl. When Huck goes in he finds that there is a newcomer and he thinks he will be able to trick her.
The woman lets Huck into the store. Huck says his girl name is Sarah Williams from Hookerville. The woman talks about a variety of things and then talks about Huck’s murder. She says Pap is a suspect and that some townspeople nearly killed him. Then, people began to suspect Jim because he ran away the same day Huck was killed. However they again turned against Pap after he was an acoholic. Pap left town before he could be killed and now there is a $200 reward being offered for him. Meanwhile there is a $300 bounty out for Jim. The woman says she thinks Jim is hidding on Jackson's Island because she has seen smoke over ever since the murder. Mrs. Loftus tells her husband to hunt for Jim there. He plans to go there tonight with another man. The women tricks Huck and finds out he is lying about being a girl and ask what his real name is and he tells her. Then he tells a story she then belives it. Huck finaly leaves and goes and gets Jim and they leave the Island.
When Jim and Huck leave the Island the spend sevreal night and days heading downstream. One night the come upon a wreak and Huck wants to have an adventure. So he goes on board and their are robbers on there about to kill a man.
Huck tells Jim about the robbers on the boat and they steal the robbers boat because theirs had been cut off. Huck feels sorry for what he did and so he goes and tells a ferry worker that his family is sinking on the Walter Scott and that he needed him to go them fast.

Chapter 8 Summary

In chapter eight huck is on the island and hears a big boom. Thew boom is comming from a ferry boat trying to find his body off the bottom of the river. He then thinks of the way the would look for bodys in the water with loafs of bread. He was right and finds a loaf of bread floating down the river and he fishes it out and eats it. He finds out that there is someone else on the island and that he is someones slave, he happen to be miss watson's. He had ran off because he knew that he was going to be sold for $800. So huck and Jim live on the island togather which makes it easier on both of them. They then make a plan to go to Ill.
Chapter 5-7 Summary

After Huck is Kidnaped by his father he is taken to the cabin that is built where no one can find it. Huck's father is a drunk so he is always trying to hurt Huck. Huck is never allowed to leave the cabin because his father locks it up and wont let him leave. So one day Huck gets a clever idea and cuts a hole in the wall and covers it up with a blanket. He then sneaks out and kills a wild pig to make it look like someone robbed the house and killed Huck. Huck then floats up the river to Jackson island where he hides out.
Summary Chapters 1-4

In Chapters 1-4 The story starts out with Huck living with the widow Douglas and Miss Watson. The two ladies were trying to turn Huck into a civilalized boy. This didnt last to long because huck would always disagree with them because he was used to living on his own. His father found out where he was staying and he kidnapped him.
